While there is no designated "leader" in this proposed configuration, there are qualities of leadership and unique authority in everyone. A respectful inter-supportive posture in recognition of this, and transparent interaction with this consciousness results in collective wisdom. There is something valid about respecting elder wisdom as well. ....roles, and reasoning together.
The parameters described thus far as the relevant component features are the result of many years of experience/observation, dialog around priority, and the nature of Presence and Intent.
The outlines in these pages are the parameters into which the invitation is extended. As indicated elsewhere, when there is a deal-breaker perceived by a potential participant(s), they are encouraged to find or compose another group of similar mind, or suspend their assessment temporarily to see if there is sufficient grounds for going or staying. Yes, there is implicit a large posture of readiness, in today's terms ...prepping. This has always been our natural inclination , simply to be locally self-responsible, at least...and vigilant, not afraid,.. as we discern the larger consequences of humanity's choices, which we have all blindly contributed to.
A simpler outer expression of "lifestyle" is a no-brainer re sustainability...yet nature is very complex and it requires far more consideration than arbitrary, grandiose imposed actions which may compromise a delicate, but otherwise sustaining ,environment. In all creative actions, there is a natural organic process which must be honoured , or there will inevitably be regressive consequences. The nature of our interaction is recorded in our collective aura, and ultimately determines the level of the authority which "the project" carries, and concurrently imparts, as teaching ...our shared knowledge. Genuine Individuality is freed in the nourishing context of a supportive Whole.
Each individual of the Whole rightly seeks discernment regarding the wellbeing of the Whole.
The unique space for broader development of complementary personal individuality, living- expression is fore-seen as the defined individual "domains" on site.
The generous parameters of these, within the surround of the whole property , is a revealing and necessary exercise for the sake of free development. This is not found in all int.communities partly because of zoning restraints, but because there is an underlying concern that it could end up like any typical urban neighborhood. If this becomes so , then it is an indicator, usually too late.
To resolve such states considered dysfunctional to the wellbeing of others, the internal bylaws would provide a sequenced approach via consensus, with a range of understanding tolerance, but also determined consequences according to the impact on individuals and the Whole.
Such rules which pertain to the direct wellbeing of the physical property require thorough understanding of actions approved, or not , on the basis of impact on the land. Some of this requires considerable contemplation/dialog. The one great rule common to most respectful, viable communities is framed in the "negative": "do no harm"... a more discerning requirement than the older mindset behind the 10 commandments. Somehow that seems easier to define than the "positively" framed admonition : "love one another". ...let me count the ways. The former is usually interpreted also as physical imposition on another(s) freedom and/or wellbeing. This stretches to emotional haranguing and/or coercive manipulation....whether judged as "bad" or "for good". Bearing in mind the assumed aspirations of fraternity, equality, and liberty ,... any overarching action or arbitrary rule impinging on any of these 3 components of a valid social constitution, should be challenged. ie : "we should All wear white bandanas....because they are nice...and and um, unifying!...and that should be each monday!....maybe a different color each day!" Nothing wrong with a non-coercive proposition, but left to individual choice. "Why do what we do?" ..followed by substantive reasons/needs/benefits, ........rather than "why not do this or that?"
